Skip?

Randy and I were golfing the other day (Dec. 23rd, 2007) and I was not having a very good day. You would think that I had forgotten how to play. That's how bad it was.
(It happens to the best of us!)
Well we are on the 5th hole (Par 3) and my chip shot went zooming past the hole by about 20 feet. (To start with, my drive should have been on the green.) Anyway, discussed with myself I dropped another ball on the ground next to me (just for practice, not a counter) and I said, "Please let me hit at least one decent shot today." And wouldn't you know it, I chipped it in the hole! I looked at Randy as we were both laughing over it, and said, "I think Skip just played a dirty joke on me!"

Club Championship...and the Winner Is:

It was Aug. 22nd, 2007. The competition gets harder every year, but I did it again. What a shock! I wasn't playing that well but I scored when I needed to in round three and four to take the trophy for my second year in a row!

July 31st, 2007

Well, today is another one of those sweet and sour kind of days. It was 40 years ago today that I had my first child. How sweet that was, and how sweet that is. She is a wonderful daughter and has been a gift from God for 40 wonderful years! We had a family barbecue on Saturday and acknowledged her getting old!!!!
Her and her husband and 18 year old son were here for the day. What a wonderful day it was!
My youngest daughter, her husband, 13 year old daughter and 14 month old son were here also. They came down the night before. That was their first trip here. It was great!
My Mother and step Dad also joined us for the day. It was an almost perfect day, except my Son couldn't be here or nor could my sister.
My Mother is doing great and is very healthy. She is also very beautiful! I pray that her health continues for a long time to come. How blessed can I be!

The sour part of this day is that it also is another day in History but a much sadder one. It was two years ago today that my brother died from complications of a double lung transplant. He has been missed more than words can discribe. I think of him often and have pictures of him on my wall, right in front of me, as I type this.
Life has gone on, but certainly not forgotten.
My sister-in-law just remarried on the 13th of this month.
I pray for her happiness.

Today is also the day that my Mother-In-Law died, two years ago. What a nightmare that day was.

"A Path to the Garden by Glenda"

I built this pathway to the new flower garden that I built!

"God Giving Pleasure"

A glimpse of my back yard!

Landscaping 2007

I built this wall and pathway by myself. It was a lot of heavy, hard work, but totally worth it in the end! The fence behind it was built by my husband and myself. There is actually a gate at the end of the pathway that leads to our side yard.

"The Sun's Creation"

A Rose from my front yard!

King City Women's Golf, Club Champion

I did it! I won the Club Championship Trophy! We played 4 rounds of 9 holes.
My handicap is "9", the lowest on the team.
The course is a par 34.
My scores were: (without my handicap)
Day 1 = 45
Day 2 = 44
Day 3 = 38
Day 4 = 40
38 is a good score, but I am not happy unless I score under 40.
I didn't think I was going to have a chance to win, after my first two rounds. I was very happy!

Skip and Glenda

Well, A year has passed since Skip's death. It really seems like I was just at the hospital with him. I still think of him almost daily. I miss him a lot. I try to remember the good things and the funny things of that time. The good thing of course was that I was able to stay with him at the hospital. That will always be one of my most treasured memories. And there were many funny moments while there. Skip had a great sense of humor and tried to make the best of a bad situation. He was always worried about everyone else while he was in there.
Life has gone on for the rest of us. Randy and I have been remodeling. That was a true test of our marriage! I think we are through for awhile. Our latest was getting our new ceramic tile installed in the kitchen/dining room and then a week later we had new carpets installed. We are very pleased with the outcome!
Back in June, the 3rd...2006, I threw a surprise birthday party for my Mom's 80th birthday. Her birthday was the 6th, which if you remember, a year prior to that, Skip recieved his new lungs. The Birthday party was a big hit! My mom was so surprised! She started to cry when she realized what was going on! Every time she would see a different face, she would start crying all over. There was about 33 people there if I remember right. There was a few very special people that could not make it, but we understood. Mom couldn't believe that all of these people would come to her birthday! And why wouldn't they, she is truely the best Mother that anyone could ever have. And the best woman I know. After the party Randy and I went over to her house and surprised her with a gift. It was a CD of "Ring of Fire" a movie that was partially made in Shelton, WA and in Lenonia, OR in 1960. My mother's Brothers were in the movie. They had several apperances! (They have both been dead for quite awhile) My Mom has always wanted a copy of the movie, but was never able to come up with one. (It took me a long time to find one) We also gave her a CD player to watch it on. That was the end of an almost perfect day. (Perfect would have been if Skip would have been there.)
